Visiting Tokyo Joypolis
Tokyo Joypolis is one of Japan's largest indoor amusement parks, featuring virtual reality rides, interactive attractions, and arcade entertainment spread across multiple floors inside the Decks Tokyo Beach shopping complex in Odaiba. Around 20 rides fill three internal floor levels, from a real roller coaster to VR and motion simulators, horror-themed walkthroughs, and licensed-franchise attractions.
Tokyo Joypolis opened to the public on July 12, 1996, as the flagship location of SEGA's Joypolis chain. Every other Japanese Joypolis, including the original 1994 Yokohama location plus Niigata, Fukuoka, Shinjuku, Kyoto, Okayama, and Umeda, closed between 2000 and 2018, making Tokyo the only Joypolis still operating in the country. The Gekion Live Coaster is Tokyo Joypolis's headline roller coaster, the park's most direct answer to visitors expecting genuine thrill rides inside an indoor Odaiba attraction. Like most of the park's headline rides, it carries a height minimum, so check current requirements before planning to ride it with younger children.
Try the VR and Motion Simulator Rides
Storm G and Halfpipe Tokyo are the park's leading motion and VR simulator rides, combining physical movement with immersive visuals. Both are frequently reported as carrying the park's longest queues at busy times, so a weekday or early-morning visit helps.

How to Get to Tokyo Joypolis
Tokyo Joypolis occupies floors 3 to 5 of Decks Tokyo Beach, on the Odaiba waterfront in Minato City, and is reached by two nearby stations on two separate lines.
Odaiba-Kaihinkoen Station is the closer, officially recommended route; Tokyo Teleport Station is a workable alternative.

Odaiba-Kaihinkoen Station, on the Yurikamome Line, is the closest station, about a 2-minute walk to Decks Tokyo Beach, and the route both the official Tokyo Joypolis site and GO TOKYO recommend. Tokyo Teleport Station, on the Rinkai Line, is a 5-minute walk and a useful alternative given the Rinkai Line's through-service to the JR Saikyo Line.
From Tokyo Station or Central Tokyo
From Tokyo Station, take a JR line to Shimbashi Station, then transfer to the Yurikamome Line toward Odaiba-Kaihinkoen Station. The full journey typically takes around 25 to 30 minutes including the transfer.
From Haneda Airport
From Haneda Airport, take the Tokyo Monorail or a train connection toward central Tokyo, then transfer onto the Yurikamome or Rinkai Line for Odaiba. The full trip typically takes around 35 to 45 minutes.
