Visiting UCC Coffee Museum
UCC Coffee Museum, operated by UCC Ueshima Coffee Co., Ltd., reopened on July 1, 2026, after a six-year closure that began in March 2020 for a full renovation. The museum grew out of a "Coffee Hall" exhibit at the 1981 Kobe Port Island Exposition (Portopia '81), and its renewed form is rebranded as an experience-oriented "coffee theme park," with a new "Future Area" and an expanded lineup of hands-on paid experience courses including roasting, blending, and 3D latte art.
Because the closure lasted six years, a large share of currently indexed travel content about the museum is out of date, describing either the pre-2020 layout or showing the facility as still closed. Entry today is fully reservation-based, with admission of ¥880 for adults and ¥440 for children; the museum shop, however, is open to visitors even without a reservation. The museum sits on Port Island, directly beside Minamikoen Station on the Port Liner line from Sannomiya, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
